The spring of the Moravica River

The spring of the Moravica River is a pleasant place for relaxation and picnic, near the crystal clear pond where the Moravica River springs. The river emerges at a place called Vrelo-Istoci, at the lowest point of mountain Devica (Virgin), 12 km from Sokobanja in the direction of Knjazevac.

The spring itself is a natural wonder. At the very beginning, it appears in the form of a spilt river flow, which is being created from a great number of underground springs. Nearby is the Temple of St. Ilija, Mark’s Cave and the trout pond.
