The Moravica River

Home NatureLakes and rivers The Moravica River

The Moravica River, which is 60.4 km long, is a right tributary of the South Morava River. The Moravica River springs at the foot of mountain Devica (Virgin). The river is rich in white fish – common bleak, chub, common nase and brown trout that live in streams.

The tributaries of the Moravica River are clear mountain rivers and streams in which you can also find river crayfish. There are six beaches on the river Moravica: Zupan, on the edge of the park ‘Banjica’, and upstream, Tesnac, Sest kace, Tri kace, Gentleman and Lepterija.

The Moravica River is also interesting for its abundant healing springs that flow into it or whose source is in the depths along its bed.
