At the site of the former summer stage „Vrelo“ in Sokobanja, construction of a new facility for cultural events, with a capacity of 1,500 seats and 3,500 standing places, has began. Sokobanja Municipality has provided 22 million dinars for the construction of a new stage „Vrelo“, and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia 18 million dinars. The deadline for construction of the first phase of the summer stage or the big scene, is 150 calendar days.
The new summer stage „Vrelo“ is designed as a modern facility, which will provide physical and technical possibilities for organizing the events, for the large number of spectators, such as concerts, musical events, festivals, performances etc. In addition to the big scene, a small scene in the shape of an amphitheater is planned, which will be used for the organization of small-scale events, during the Spa cultural summer. The stage will also have additional facilities such as a changing room, utility room for storing equipment, a group of toilets for all users etc.
The whole environment will be regulated in order to protect the natural values of location Vrelo in Sokobanja and will be in function during the day, as a place for fun and relaxation, with the set eqippement for the rest and recreation, gadgets for fun and games, decorated landscaped areas and walking trails. The project involves decoration of three lakes between small and large scene, and the largest of them will be turned into a skating rink during the winter months, which will significantly enrich the winter tourist offer of Sokobanja. In addition to the lake, a small catering facility or a summer bar will be built, which will enable the maintenance of summer parties in the open. Such facility will be a great support for resort „Borići“, a favorite place for tourists near summer stage „Vrelo“.
